Tim Wakefield enters the 2009 season with 1,907 strikeouts. When he pitches 30+ games he usually tallies 100+ Ks, so there's a very good chance that Wake with reach the 2,000 K mark this season.
Fenway West has created a contest to guess the date that Wake will hit 2,000 strikeouts.
