Rumor has it, John Smoltz will be starting for the Boston Red Sox tonight.
Smoltz was 1-1 with a 3.38 ERA in three rehab starts with Pawtucket. He struck out 11 and walked 4 in 16 total innings, showcasing the pin point control that has made him one of the greatest pitchers in MLB history.
Tonight, the Red Sox will settle for 5 or 6 solid innings from Smoltz and a chance to sweep the Nationals before heading to Atlanta. Smoltz will be limited to 90 pitches tonight, but with his control he could easily get into the 6th or beyond.
This a big day for Smoltz and the Sox, here's what the media has to say:
Herald - Just another start for Smoltz
