david ortiz red sox nationals.jpgComputer issues really killed my excitement for writing this pots, but I can't ignore The Large Father's return to glory.

David Ortiz carried the Red Sox over the Nationals last night with a three-run blast to deep center that put the Sox up 3-1 in the fourth. It was his 7th ding dong of the season and his 6th in June. Ortiz is now hitting .327 on the month with 6 homers and 15 RBI... it would appear that the 5th spot in the line up suits him.

The Nats chipped away in the 6th and 7th, but the Sox posted 6 runs in the game and it proved to be enough to secure the 6-4 victory. The Sox are now 15-5 in June, giving them a 44-27 record on the season (2nd only to the Dodgers at 47-25)... but the best part is that they're winning on the road. The Sox always hover around the .500 mark aways fron the Fens, but they are currently 19-17 on the road have won 7 of the last 8 games on the road... good news, since the Sox won't be back in Boston until July 3rd.
