Jon Lester remains tight lipped about the 5-year, $30M deal his agent has reportedly secured for him, but he did sign a 1-year deal yesterday as one of 19 players the Red Sox locked in for 2009.
The 1-year deal with be dropped if and when the larger deal is made official.
Others agreeing to terms today were pitchers Michael Bowden, Clay Buchholz, Manny Delcarmen, Felix Doubront, Miguel Gonzalez, Devern Hansack, Hunter Jones, Wes Littleton, Justin Masterson and Ramon Ramirez; catchers Dusty Brown, George Kottaras and Mark Wagner; infielders Chris Carter, Argenis Diaz, and Jed Lowrie; and outfielders Jacoby Ellsbury and Jonathan Van Every.
With the agreements, all 40 players on Boston's major league roster are under contract for the 2009 season.
