Jason Varitek, David Ortiz, Jacoby Ellsbury and Jason Bay have all gone deep in today's spring training game againts the Twins.

Varitek was just 2 for 22 (.091) before this game but he has been focused on correcting his approach from the left side... today's home run was from the left side and he was 2 for 3 on the day - a good sign.

"I don't know what he's hitting. I don't care. Again, he's another guy we're trying to get his work in and get him ready for a long season, because he's going to be a big part of what we do."

Overall, Ellsbury, Ortiz, Varitek, Lowrie and Bay all have two hits each in today's game... Rocco Baldelli was 0 for 4 with two strikeouts.

Josh Beckett came out of the game after throwing those 60 pitches over four innings. He allowed three runs on six hits, walked one, and struck out three.

Paps gave up a home run in his inning of work ... Saito had a K and a clean inning, Okajima gave up a run in his inning and Junichi Tazawa fanned one through two full innings of work to complete the Japanese "tri-fec-tah."
