The results are in and more than 50% of Red Sox Nation expects Jacoby Ellsbury to swipe 55+ bags in 2009.
Interestingly, After stealing 50 bases in his first full season, 18% of voters thought that Jacoby would regress in 2009 and only steal 30-40 bases... I am curious to hear the logic behind that.
Bottom Line: Ellsbury still needs to work on his OBP... but he and Terry Francona hope that he can play as many games as possible in 2009, and if he gets 600 at-bats, I can see his reaching the 60 steal mark.
