FOX and the MLB have announced earlier start times for the 2009 ALCS and World Series. The new start time is a kid-friendly 30 minuets earlier than last season - 7:57PM EST.
Good news for the youngsters here on the East Coast, but as Big League Stew reminds us, aren't Joe Buck and Tim McCarver the real problem here...?
TBS has the right to the LDS and NLCS, but they haven't announced any game times yet. Expect them to fall in line with FOX... and hopefully bring back Don O. and Eck to do the pre-game and booth work.

If you had told the guys at Surviving Grady that Jason Varitek would have more ding dongs tha David Ortiz on May 19th... they would have assumed you meant the tasty snack and not home runs. But Tek doesn in deed have 5 home runs to Big Papi's goose egg... click HERE to see four other unbeilievable factoids fro SG.

Speaking of "Big Sloppy" ... Red Sox Monster found a video for new hit song "Girlfriend like Big papi." Problem is... Ortiz is in the biggest funk of his Red Sox carreer... maybe a Jason Bay sound would have worked better...
RSM also posted some interesting trade rumors invloving C/1B Victor Martinez... he ain't 25, but he's hitting .400 right now and offers some versatility. But the Indians's asking price is probably insane and most likely includes one or more of our coveted pitching prospects.

Kevin Youkilis talks to the Projo about his first rehab game at Pawtucket and remenises about playing at McCoy Stadium.
"I felt good. I was a little rusty, but I felt good," he said. "I'm just excited to get on the field again. It was good to get out there, get some at-bats and see the ball. It was good to have a guy [Buffalo starter Fernando Nieve] who had a little velocity, too. Hopefully [Tuesday] I can get some more at-bats and hopefully get comfortable each day playing."
Youk went 0 for 2 with a walk and a strikeout.
Speaking of Pawtucket... Jimmy from The House That Dewey Built had a nice Sox Prospect Update last week.
