david ortiz red sox angels.jpgDon't look at me like that.

I didn't say it... David Ortiz did.

Ortiz went 0 for 7 and stranded 12 runners, tying Trot Nixon's team record, as his average plummeted to .208. The five-time All-Star dressed slowly while facing his corner locker, then turned around and saw a swarm of reporters surrounding him before saying: "Sorry, guys. I don't feel like talking today. Just put down, 'Papi stinks.'"

That pretty much sums up yesterday's 5-4 loss to the Angels. The Sox posted a 33 in the LOB box and Ortiz accounted for 11 of those. His last at-bat, with the bases loaded, was the worst - after fanning three times already, Ortiz chose to poke at the first pitch he saw rather than work the count with Kottaras at third and the speedy combo of Lugo and Ellsbury behind him. The result was an inning-ending ground out to the catcher.

But Papi isn't alone here. Julio Lugo played out of his mind going 5 for 6 from the 9 spot and Ellsbury (2-6) and Pedroia (4-6) combined to gos 6 for 12 at the top of the order, but Bay Lowell, Drew, Bailey and Varitek combined to go 4 for 17 with eight strikeouts.

Julio Lugo can't do EVERYTHING guys...

Bottom Line: Home plate umpire Bill Miller's strike zone against the Red Sox was the size of Texas, prompting Francona to get thrown out of the game and the Sox to strike out looking ten times... but the Sox had their chances.

Papi is frustrated and so is Red Sox Nation, but we're heading to Seattle and Pedey is staying positive:

"Everyone goes through stuff like this. I've definitely been through something like that," said teammate Dustin Pedroia. "We're pulling for [Ortiz]. Hopefully, the corner is right there and he's going to turn it."

Let's hope so Dustin...
