As of midnight last night, Jason Bay is officially a free agent, so this week we want to know what you think Bay is worth. The Red Sox have already offered him 4 year and $60 million, but the offer was rejected. Is he worth more than that?
Scott Boras wants to get Matt Holliday a Teixeira-like deal for 8 years and $180M... is Bay good enough to command a similar deal?
Personally, I'd give Bay 4 years, $17M. But the Red Sox need Bay or Holliday in left field and if they let Bay walk, they will end up in a bidding war with the Yankees for Holliday. I think the Angels are the teams to watch here... they don't want to over pay for Holliday, but I can see them pushing hard for Bay... and he is a west coast guy.
