Here are some fun facts before tonight's Red Sox/Orioles game:
The Red Sox play their next eight games at Fenway Park.
The Sox are 45-21 at home and 34-37 on the road after dropping three games in Chicago this weekend.
They went 7-3 on their last homestand against the Yankees, White Sox and Blue Jays.
They're also 11-2 against the O's this season and one of those losses came after the Sox blew a 10-1 lead in the 7th and lost 11-10.
The Yankees destroyed the Rays' postseason dreams with two losses yesterday and by breaking Carlos Pena's fingers...
... but the Rangers remain just 2.5 games back in the race for the AL wild card spot...
... and 16 of their next 13 games are against the Indians (60-76), the Mariners (72-66) and the Athletics (61-76).
Clay Buchholz has been nasty in his last two starts, posting a 2.55 ERA through 14.1 innings while fanning 12 and picking up back-to-back victories.
Orioles starter David Hernandez is 2-4 in his last 10 starts and has allowed 24 earned runs in his last 34.1 innings thanks to 13 ding dongs and 23 walks.
The last time he faced the Red Sox he left the game after 4.1 innings and allowed 2 runs on 2 homers and 4 walks... but he held the Sox to 1 run through 7 innings in the outing before that and earned the victory in Fenway Park.
Adam Jones, one of the Orioles most dangerous players, is probably done for the season.
Victor Martinez is 10 for 25 (.400) with a homer and 5 RBI in his last 7 games... Jason Varitek is 0 for 8 with four strikeouts. Tito better keep the captain on the bench.
Kevin Youkilis is 9 for 26 (.346) with 3 doubles, a homer, 5 RBI and 6 runs scored and Jason Bay is 8 for 25 (.320) with 2 doubles, a triple, a home run and 6 RBI is the past 7 games.
Melvin Mora has been hot for the O's, hitting .429 (9-21) with 2 homers and 6 RBI. And outfielder Nolan Reimold has also been good hitting .364 (8-22) with 2 homers and 5 RBI.
Bottom Line: This should be a quick sweep for the Sox. Be sure to wear your Indians gear underneath your Sox jersey as well..
