Boston had not been running on Dustin lately, but a clean shave and the friendly confines of Fenway Park seem to have sparked Dustin Pedroia.
Pedey hit two ding dongs in last night's 10-0 win over the Orioles and had three RBI on the night.
But Pedroia only had two of the six homers the Red Sox blasted last night. Alex Gonzalez hit his 4th since coming to Boston and is currently riding a 12-game hitting streak!
David Ortiz hit his 23rd of the season and raised his average to .225 with two hits on the night... are you excited?
And JD Drew hit a 3-run shot, giving him 20 on the year for the first time since 2006 with the Dodgers.
Youk hit a homer as well, but that's what Youk's do, so we won't made a big deal about it.
So the offense continues to click at Fenway, but the road woes are troublesome. What isn't trouble some is Clay Buchholz' performance over the past three starts. Buchhy retired the first 10 batters he faced last night and held the O's to three hits through seven shut out innings to earn his third straight win.
Bottom Line: We can't play all of our games at home in the playoffs, but if Clay keeps clicking like this, we won't need a ton of offense to succeed in the October...
