The tweets are flying right now folks so here are some quick updates:
* David Price (12-4, 2.42, 100 K) will start the All-Star Game for the AL. He's one of five southpaws in a rotation that includes Jon Lester, Cliff Lee, C.C. Sabathia and recently added Andy Pettitte. The NL will counter with Ubaldo Jimenez (15-1, 2.20, 113).
* Reports were flying that Adrian Beltre had been replaced by Micheal Young on the AL roster, but tweets have confirmed that Beltre plans to test his injured hamstring tomorrow. I'd prefer he rest and MLB's Ian Browne says "he won't be surprised" is Beltre opts out tomorrow.
* Joe Girardi replaced 1B Justin Morneau with Paul Konerko over the weekend. Some Red Sox fans were miffed that Kevin Youkilis didn't get the call, but I'd rather see Youkl resting that balky ankle and leading us on a playoff run in September.
* Josh Beckett through 4 innings for the Paw Sox on Saturday. He allowed two hits and threw 68 pitches - 42 for strikes. He finished string and had no setbacks after the game. The plan is to have him start two more rehab games and join the Sox in late July.
* Clay Buchholz will make a rehab start in the minors on Friday and should be activated for the West Coast trip after the Rangers series. Felix Doubront could remain on the roster and help out in the bullpen, but that would likely mean a demotion for RP Robert Manuel.
* Dustin Pedroia will get a CT scan on Friday. He hopes to play as early as the West Coast trip, but if he re-breaks the bone in his foot, he'll need surgery to insert a pin - and that would end his 2010 season.
* David Ortiz will hit 6th in the Home Run Derby tonight. It took Big Papi a month to find his swing... I really hope the Derby doesn't mess him up.
