Starters
Felix Doubront (0-0, 0.00)
Carlos Monasterios (3-1, 2.98)
Doubront's major league debut should be the story tonight, but Manny will spoil that with his return to Boston. Felix was called up to fill in for the injured Matsuzaka after dominating in AA Portland and AAA Pawtucket. Felix is 6-1 with a 2.11 ERA in 12 starts with 54 Ks and 22 walks. Tito says the kid has a good fastball and isn't affraid to use it, but his secondary pitches are still a work in progress. The Dodgers feature a very good NL lineup, but they rank in the middle of pack acorss the majors. Felix has not alowed a home run in 2010, so that will add another layer to this interesting game. The Dodgers rankd in the bottom half of the league with a mere 51 ding dongs this year, so Felix should be able to keep his streak alive... but you know fanswill be looking for a Manny Monster shot.
As for Carlos... he's a converted RP that has piotched well enough to keep the job after 4 starts. That said, he coughed up 4 runs on 7 hits and 3 walks in his last start and lasted just 2.2 innings. That was the Angels... the Sox present a much scarier lineup and with everyone clicking right now, Monsaterios could be in trouble.
That's all I have for now. The Key Matchups are silly for this game. The Sox haven't seen Carlos and the Dodgers haven't seen Felix... and all eyes will be on Manny anyway.
I hope he goes 0-4 and the kid gets the win.
