For the first time in a few years, the Red Sox will start a season without a rookie on the roster. Daniel Bard logged 49 innings last season, and is the closest thing to a rookie the Sox have at the major league level.

But there are a few players that could make an impact before the season is over, and last week we asked you guys to pick the young player you feel has the best chance at conrtibuting in 2010.

Not surprisingly, OF Josh Reddick tallied the most votes. It's easy to see why when you looks at his stats from spring training: 14 for 32 (.457), 5 2B, 3B, HR, 6 RBI and a team high 24 total bases.

Unfortunately for Reddick, the Sox signed Jeremy Hermida in the offseason to be the back-up outfielder and Bill Hall is expected to get the call when Tito opts to rest J.D. Drew or stack the lineup with righties.

Hall and Mike Cameron are locks for 500 at-bats and both guys are past thier prime... if either player struggles early or needs a break, Reddick would get the call.

Micheal Bowden was the runner-up and was my vote, but his potential conversion to a reliever makes me think the Sox will want to keep him in Pawtucket while he makes the switch. That said, after Boof Bonser, he's the next guy in line for a spot start should a starter hit the DL.

Thnaks to everyone for voting. Check back Monday for the next Red Sox Poll Question!
