Despite allowing five free passes through six innings, Jon Lester managed to hold the Rays to one hit and the Red Sox bullpen did the same with solid innings from Delcarmen, Bard and Papelbon.

Shields held us to four hits through eight innings, but David Ortiz gave the Sox all the support they would need with a 2-run double in the 3rd. The Sox went on to a 2-0 victory.

Lester is now 5-0 in his last 7 starts with a 1.46 ERA and the Red Sox have won 7 of their last 8 games to improve to 26-21... just a 1/2 game back on the Blue Jays and a 1 1/2 games behind the Yankees.

Onece again we trun to Lackey to keep the mojo flowing. He'll have a tough assignment, sharing the mound with Matt Garza, but I'd say it's time for the mouth-breather to step up with a solid outing, no?

ps. Our buddies at Surviving Grady want your best nickname suggestions for Lester - "Jon" just ain't cool enough.
