Jon Lester and Clay Buchholz dominated the Twins this week and have the Red Sox on a 3-game winning streak.

Don't look now, but the Sox are 11-8 in May.

Lester finsihed a complete game last night and allowed two runs, but one came on a sac fly in the 8th and the other was on an infield grounder and was unearned thanks to a rare Dustin Pedroia error. The nine Ks and zero walks were just icing on the cake.

The night before, Buchholz threw 8 strong innings, holding the Twins to 2 runs while fanning 8 and walking only one batter.

This is the type of pitching we were all expecting and with the offense producing at a much higher rate than most would have hoped for, the Sox appear to be on a roll!

But let's not get ahead of ourselves...

The Sox will now travel to Philly (25-15) for a 4-game series and then to Tampa (30-11) for a 3-game set. Right now, those two teams have the two best records in baseball.

The good news is, the Yankees are droping like flies. Posada is out for a few weeks, Thames rolled his ankle on a bat. Granderson is still out. So is Johnson. And Pettitte, Burnett and Hughes all hit road blocks in theor last starts after posting otherworldy numbers to start the year.

In short, the Rays have already built an almost unconquerable lead in the AL East, but if the the Red Sox can keep this mojo flowing through the rest of May, the schuled lightens up in June and they have a real shot at getting back into the playoff race before the All Star break.

Your turn Lackey... don't eff it up.
